Finally feeling up to playing with some of my new goodies. I'm having lots of fun! I just love this litte Prego Gal from Amuse. She's adorable, isn't she? The "Expecting Joy" is also from Amuse. All cardstock, paper and ink is from Stampin' Up! Notice the Marvy Scallop Punch? (My daughter, Sarah, gave it ooohs and ahhhs). The lovely ribbon is from May Arts. (It makes a great frame around the little Prego Gal.) I'm definately going to need some more of it. I also used my corner punch from SU! on the corners and to make the scalloped strip.
This card is for a dear friend who recently shared that she is expecting. I am so happy for her! She's such a good mom and a sweet person and the joy that a new little one will bring to her and her family is very exciting. Besides, I'm looking forward to helping her spoil him (or her). That's what favorite "aunties" do. (wink)

Birthday Shopping!!!
So, today was my birthday. I'm 39. (Do I sound like Eeyore yet?) It started off kind of...blah. I've been recovering from sinus surgery that I just had 5 days ago and my dear, sweet husband, Chris, has been very busy taking care of me, playing taxi to our 4 children and keeping the house clean. He's been so busy in fact, that he was unable to make it out to do any birthday shopping. (sigh) So, I tortured him...by dragging his tired body to some of my favorite stamping stores.
First stop was The Cottage Stamper where I indulged myself in Amuse stamps. I also snagged a Marvy Scalloped Oval Punch (Giga size) and several yards of May Arts Ribbon. After that it was off to Archiver's. They had the Bo Bunny Flex Ruler in stock! More May Arts Ribbon, a little Stickles (frosted lace), a new Personal Impressions Clear Icon and Border stamp, Mini Brads by Stemma, K&Company Happy Trails Mat Pad and Stickers (to scrap our recent trip to Alabama) AND a Bare Elements desk organizer (that I cannot wait to embellish for my new desk) and then it was off to the The Scrap Shack. By this time, I was feeling pretty tired. lol However, I managed enough strength to pick out some very awesome paper by Crate Paper and several marching band stickers, including one by Reminisce that says "Marching Band...if it were any easier, they would call it football". My 14 year old is a percussionist, so I knew he would get a kick out it (and he did).
After a day of shopping and a couple of Tylenol, it was off to dinner at Bennigan's. (One of my favorite family restaurants.) By this time, I was feeling much better as I was surrounded with chatter and laughter from my children and I was presented with birthday cards, including one from my busy hubby that said "On your birthday, I'd like to give you the world...but my heart will have to do." Under which he wrote "Please don't return it or exchange it. It fits and it's the only style available." (Tissue, anyone?) I know, I know...that's why I married him. He's one of the good ones.
