Simply Lost n Love

Hi! Thanks for stopping by. It's an exciting night for us LOST fans. Tonight is the premiere of Season 5! Anyone else out there going to be glued to the TV tonight? LOST is the only show I watch on TV. I find it so intriguing! My hubby has bought me each season as it's come available on DVD and I can hardly wait to see what happens tonight. Will the Oceanic 6 go back to the island? Is Charlie going to reappear? What's up with Claire? Oh the suspense!!!

I have another Valentine to share. This one is pretty simple, but it's for a no nonsense kind of guy, so I'm sure he'll appreciate it. In trying to keep with using what I have, I pulled out my Boho Blossoms from MFT. It's still one of my favorites! I also finally broke in my Label 1 Nestabilities! :) Love 'em!

I'm going to keep this short and sweet tonight. ;) Have a good one! ~Patti

TECC51 and a Winner

Happy Weekend! It actually feels like a mini vacation here. We've just had two days off because of the fridged temps and are now entering a three day weekend. It's been just what I needed! ;) Gave me a chance to get started on my Valentine cards.

Since this set comes from Taylored Expressions, I thought it would be fun to use Taylor's Cupcake Challenge for my first card. The set is Love is Sweet. It's absolutely adorable! My daughter and I will also be using it to make her Valentine's for school.

The paper and embellishments are from Taylor's store as well. The heart shaped brads were actually white, but I wanted teal, so I colored them with a Copic and added Aqua Stickles. I'll have more Valentine's to share over the next week, but now it's on to our winner... Stampmonkey!!! (aka: Christy)

It's great to see you posting regularly, Patti! ;) I typically don't make Resolutions either, but having goals is always a good thing. Yours actually sound a lot like mine. I'm planning to read through the Bible this year (using the Daily Walk Through the Bible --I'm lovin' it!), and spend more time in prayer. I'm hoping to get more organized and to priorize my time better. If I succeed at this, I'll be spending less time on the computer and then be able to create (and hopefully post) more often. I'm trying to work out a budget and live by it. This is something I should do all the time, but I think it's become necessary now with the uncertainty of our current economy......which leads me to my next one: I want to purchase less new product and use more of what I already have. (It's gonna be really tough though.) And I'm planning to do two different scripture challenges this year...both of which will encourage my spiritual growth as well as my creativity. I think that's enough. lol

Great minds think alike Christy! ;) Drop me an email with your address so I can send you your new set. Thanks to everyone for sharing. I pray the Spirit gives us the power to accomplish all we hope to achieve this year. Enjoy your weekend! Blessings~ Patti

For the Dungeon Master

I've had my eye on this dragon at Michael's for a long time and just needed an excuse to add it to my collection. Well lucky for me, my son Jacob has become a Dungeon Master!

Jacob and his friends have been getting together regularly to play Dungeons and Dragons for the last six months. I don't get it, but they love it and I love hosting their game nights. It's so fun to sit in the other room and hear them chatting about school, movies, games, friends and other guy stuff.

Jacob just turned 12 and we are celebrating his birthday this weekend with a big D&D all nighter. 8 sixth grade boys...playing D&D, watching dragon movies and eating pizza and munchies until the wee hours of the morning. ;)

The saying on the card is from Verve's Great Expectations Julee creates the best sentiment sets! And the fonts she uses are so versatile.

Thanks for stopping by today. Don't forget to check out the post below for chance at a new Verve set. Take care~ Patti

January Divine Design

Don't worry about anything, instead pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done. If you do this, you will experience God's peace, which is far more wonderful than the human mind can understand. His peace will guard your hearts and your minds as you live in Christ Jesus. ~Philippians 4:6-7

My dear friend Carol shared this verse with me last week and I thought it would be a lovely addition to my desk flip book. As I've read it over and over again, I can almost hear God saying "Don't worry, pray and experience my peace as you live in Christ Jesus." During these emotionally difficult winter months, that is such a comfort to me.

Since I had not finished my Divine Design project from last year, I wanted to complete it before moving on to this year's project. This is my last page and I now have 8 verses on double sided 4x4 coasters which I will take to work. I can rotate each verse on a weekly basis or as I need them for encouragement. It's my prayer that they will be an encouragement to others in our office as well.

The Divine Design Challenges were started last year by Lori Craig and will carry on this year with her fellow Scripture Chicks, Angel, Nancy, Taylor and Jami. If you'd like to participate, you can find out all of the details here.

For my project this year, I purchased one of Taylor's vertical frames to display my Divine Designs. I've asked my family to share some of their favorite scripture verses and will use them, along with a few more that have touched my heart. I'm really excited about including my family in this project as it will prompt more spiritual conversation among us. Yet another blessing of participating in this wonderful challenge.

Enjoy your day~ Patti

CP Black Eyed Susans

Working with all that orange made me want to get out some more fall colors! ;) This is one of the thank you cards I've been working on. It features Creative Play's Black Eyed Susans.

I'm so blessed with thoughtful, caring friends and a couple of them made meals for me and my family while I was recovering from my sinus surgery. Prayers, fluffy pillows, Lost and food...what more could a girl ask for!?

Tylenol with Codeine? Not so much! That's scary stuff! After the third day of it, I was still feeling a little loopy and then I started having the most bizarre dreams...including one about driving from store to store looking for Copic markers, only to find out all of the stores were sold out! I actually woke up feeling panicked. My daughter Sarah said, "That was a nightmare mom!" lol

Needless to say, I gave up the amped Tylenol and started feeling more like myself. And yesterday, I was able to return to work. It was good to be back, great to see all of the students...and I still found some time to stamp. :)

Take care~ Patti

Delightful?

I have to admit, I'm not a big fan of orange, but once again, I couldn't resist this Ambrosia paper from Basic Grey. It's Delightful!!!

What's not delightful is my Copic coloring. I finally gave up and just called miss Cinnamon done, but she's got orange smudges around her wrist and waist. Oi!!! Apparently I need the Copic Certification Refresher Course. lol

I think I'll spend the $$$ on a little Copic Therapy instead and head on over to Creative Play to order a few more Sketch Markers! Afterall, "practice makes perfect" and I need more colors to practice with, right? (Right!) Did I mention, they are on sale right now? ;)

Have a DeLightful Day!!! ~Patti

God Bless You!

Happy Monday! It's back to the usual routine of school and work...well, almost. I'm off until my doctor releases me to return to work, which should be tomorrow. I go see him this afternoon and expect to get the all clear. I have to admit, now that I'm feeling better, a couple of more days to play with my stamps and visit with friends would be nice. ;)

Not a lot of stamping here. It's all about the Basic Grey paper! How do they do it?! I've found that I just can't wrong with their paper...the colors and designs are incredible!

I made this card with my friend Maria in mind. She will be taking her son, Jesus to the hospital next week for a bone marrow transplant. He's only six and has recently been diagnosed with leukodystrophy. Maria is an amazing woman and Jesus a delightful little boy. It's such a privilege and joy to know them.

Maria and Jesus are expecting a lengthy stay in the hospital, so I'm sending Beth Moore's, Jesus Day By Day along with the card. I pray God's word will provide her with strength and comfort. I hope you'll join me in praying for them. God Bless You! ~Patti
